Categories
Built in, and your own

Built-in categories such as Attractions, Entertainment, Hotel / Lodging and Medical each carry their own icon — and you can add categories of your own.
Tags
Your own vocabulary

Tags are entirely yours — Rooftop, Dive Bar, Party Boat, whatever fits how you think. Each one shows how many places use it, and you can filter by tag.
Collections Pro
Group places together

Build a collection for a trip, a city, or a project, and keep the places for it together. A collection can also be shared with someone else.

Custom fields let you record the details PinKeep™ does not ask for on its own. Collections and custom fields are part of PinKeep™ Pro; categories, tags, notes and favorites are free.

Data

Your data stays portable

PinKeep™ has no accounts and no cloud sync. Everything you save is stored on your own device, which is exactly why getting your library back out again matters.

Export PinKeep™ data — a .pinkeep file you can save or send to yourself
Import PinKeep™ data (Pro) — from a .pinkeep backup, a collection somebody shared with you, or a PinKeep™ JSON file with up to 500 places at once
Automatic backup (Pro) — PinKeep™ keeps a copy of your library ready for your device’s own backup: Google backup on Android, iCloud or computer backup on iPhone and iPad
Preferred maps app — choose which app opens your places, or leave it automatic

Your phone decides when a device backup happens, so PinKeep™ can only tell you when it last prepared one. The copy comes back differently on each platform: on Android, Google backup returns it when PinKeep™ is reinstalled; on iPhone and iPad, it returns with a whole-device restore from iCloud or a computer, not by reinstalling the app. When PinKeep™ finds a saved backup it can offer recovery; restoring it requires PinKeep™ Pro. Exporting to a .pinkeep file is always free.
